Progress Is Better Than Perfection
Progress Is Better Than Perfection
Kabhi notice kiya hai, hum log start karne se zyada “perfect start” ka wait karte rehte hain? New year pe gym join karna ho, Monday se diet, next month se side hustle, ya “jab mood sahi hoga tab padhai karunga” — bas planning hi planning. Aur end mein kya? Time nikal jaata hai, confidence down ho jaata hai, aur hum apne aap se bolte hain: “Yaar, mere se ho hi nahi paata.”
Sach bolun? Perfection ek beautiful trap hai. Dikhta bahut attractive hai, but andar se kaafi exhausting. Progress, on the other hand, chhota ho sakta hai, slow ho sakta hai, messy ho sakta hai — but real hota hai. Aur life mein real cheez hi kaam aati hai.
Perfection Ka Pressure, Progress Ka Power
Perfection ka problem ye hai ki woh start karne se pehle hi judge kar deta hai. “Agar 100% nahi hua toh kya fayda?” Is thinking ne kitne logon ke dreams ko WhatsApp draft bana ke rakha hai — typed, saved, never sent.
Maan lo tum college student ho aur presentation banana hai. Agar tum sochoge ki slide design, content, delivery sab ekdum flawless hona chahiye, toh ho sakta hai tum kal par kal delay karte jao. But agar tum pehle rough draft bana lo, phir usse better karo, toh kaam hota jaata hai. Progress ka matlab hai imperfect first step. And honestly, first step hi sabse important hota hai.
Perfection bolta hai, “Tabhi shuru karo jab ready ho.”
Progress bolta hai, “Shuru karo, ready baad mein ho jaana.”
Small Steps Hi Real Wins Hain
Hum log often progress ko underestimate kar dete hain because it looks too small. 10 pages padhna? Bas itna? 15-minute walk? Arre yeh toh kuch bhi nahi! But yahi small steps milke big results banate hain.
Socho, ek ladka ya ladki gym join karta hai aur pehle week mein hi six-pack expect kar raha hai. Phir jab result nahi aata, motivation down. But agar woh daily 20 minutes walk, thoda khana control, aur consistent sleep kare, toh 3 months mein body aur energy dono change ho sakti hain. Same with studies, career, writing, even relationships.
Progress ka beauty yahi hai: it compounds. Aaj ka 1% better version kal ke 1% se add hota jaata hai. Jaise chai ka first sip nothing special lagta hai, but poori cutting chai ka effect alag hota hai. Life bhi aisi hi hai — small sips, big comfort.
Instagram Life Se Real Life Ko Compare Mat Karo
Aaj kal sab kuch filtered lagta hai. Instagram pe log travel kar rahe hain, startup launch kar rahe hain, body bana rahe hain, relationship goals post kar rahe hain. Aur hum metro mein khade hoke soch rahe hote hain: “Meri life itni slow kyun hai?”
Lekin social media pe result dikhta hai, process nahi. Tumhe unka 6-month struggle nahi dikhega, unki 40 failed attempts nahi dikhenge, unke 2 baje raat wale breakdowns nahi dikhenge. Bas highlight reel hoti hai.
Isliye apni journey ko kisi aur ke final draft se compare mat karo. Tumhara kaam hai apne aaj ko kal se better banana. Bas. Agar aaj tumne 30 minutes focused kaam kiya, kal 45 minutes kiya, toh that’s progress. Agar tumne ek toxic habit ko reduce kiya, agar tumne ek extra chapter padha, agar tumne ek awkward conversation karke clarity li — that’s growth.
“All or Nothing” Soch Ko Side Pe Rakho
All or nothing mindset kaafi dangerous hota hai. Diet tod di toh “ab toh poora din kharab.” Ek din padhai miss ho gayi toh “week barbaad.” Ek mistake ho gayi toh “main toh fail hi hoon.” This thinking drains energy faster than low battery on a metro ride.
Life mein consistency ka matlab perfect streak nahi hota. Consistency ka matlab hai — missing ke baad bhi wapas aana. Agar tumne Monday miss kar diya, Tuesday se phir start. Agar ek project mein issue aa gaya, usse drop nahi, debug karo. Agar relationship mein thoda misunderstanding hua, conversation se solve karo.
Progress ka matlab yeh nahi ki har din amazing hoga. Progress ka matlab hai, even on boring days, you still show up.
Chhota Improvement, Badi Self-Respect
Sabse underrated cheez? Progress self-respect build karta hai. Jab tum apne promises ko todte rehte ho, andar se ek guilt build hota hai. “Main kar hi nahi pata.” But jab tum chhote goals complete karte ho, tumhara apne upar trust wapas aata hai.
Maan lo tumne decide kiya ki roz 10 pages padhoge. Doosre din 10, teesre din 7, fourth day 12. Perfect nahi? No problem. But you’re moving. Aur jab tum move karte ho, tumhari identity change hoti hai. You stop seeing yourself as “someone who never finishes” and start seeing yourself as “someone who keeps going.”
Ye feeling bahut powerful hoti hai. Kyunki motivation har din nahi aati. But self-trust? Woh tumhe tab bhi aage le jaati hai jab mood off ho, traffic ho, ya chai thandi ho gayi ho.
Final Thought: Start Ugly, Improve Later
Agar aaj tum kisi cheez ka wait kar rahe ho — better timing, better confidence, better skills, better body, better mood — toh ek honest reminder: better version action se aata hai, waiting se nahi.
Start ugly. Start confused. Start slow. Bas start karo. Phir usse better banao. Progress ka beauty yahi hai ki woh proof deta hai tum stuck nahi ho. Tum move kar rahe ho. Aur honestly, life mein move karna perfection se zyada important hai.
So next time jab tum khud se bolo, “Mujhe perfect hona chahiye,” ek second ruk ke bolo: “Nahi yaar, mujhe bas better hona hai.” Aur better hona? That’s enough to change everything.
