“Sir, sample window close ke paas hai. Main lab se confirm karti,” usne kaha.
Dr. Vats अंदर से बोले, “Accept. Runner रुका है.”
Mehak ने details verify, label print, payment receipt. Printer ने इस historic moment में cooperate किया. बाहर lane में low-volume speaker वाला decorated auto seventeen minutes से legally parked wait कर रहा था. Sameer ने Chirag को three times कहा: “No call. Patient.”
Chirag auto के अंदर placard उल्टा पकड़े था. “अगर एक घंटा?”

सब हँसे. Tension ने exit लिया.

“Mehak Dixit,” Chirag बोला, “हम promise नहीं करेंगे lockout नहीं होगा, part fail नहीं होगा, डर नहीं लगेगा. होगा. Hum बस यह promise कर सकते कि shame में गायब नहीं होंगे. Fix karke बाद में नहीं बताएँगे. Ask करेंगे, assume नहीं. Aur हर बार perfect नहीं, par show up.”
Mehak की आँखें wet. “Main promise नहीं करूँगी endless patience. Main polite रहकर resentment hide नहीं करूँगी. Bolungi. Aur आपकी हर problem solve नहीं.”
“हमारी problem हम.”
“हमारी problem हम दोनों.”
“तो?”
Mehak ने placard का question mark tap किया. “Setting ho gayi final.”
उसने ring पहनाई. Size exact. Sameer ने clap शुरू, Tinku ने flower petals hand से—confetti banned. Rinku ने speaker volume बढ़ाना चाहा; Bachchu Singh ने सिर्फ देखा, उसने कम रखा.
Dr. Vats clinic door से बोले, “Photo जल्दी. Tomorrow morning seven opening.”
Mehak हँसी. “Sir, आज leave?”
“Closing done. Congratulations.”

Sameer ने auto ride में पूछा, “Ab party?”
