The Heist Rehearsal
Visual Storyboard, Shot Blueprint & Cinematography Guide
This storyboard is designed as an easy, creative guide to help you shoot the film. Each scene beat describes what the audience sees on screen, character movement/staging, the lighting vibe, and the dramatic purpose.
MINI WAR ROOM IN A HATCHBACK
A cramped old hatchback interior at night, dashboard glowing softly, with three men squeezed into front and back seats like they are planning a world-changing operation. The cluttered back seat and tight front cabin make the car feel absurdly tiny.
Pawan adjusts his leather jacket and sunglasses with theatrical confidence, Bittu clutches fake blueprint pages, and Rafi sits still with a lunch box in his lap, observing both men without emotion.
Warm dashboard yellow with faint streetlight streaks crossing the windows. Shadows are soft but enclosing, creating a comic sense of over-serious secrecy.
Introduce the central irony immediately: grand criminal ambition trapped inside a tiny, ridiculous space.
THE GENIUS PLAN THAT ISN’T
The three men argue over the plan, with Pawan speaking like a mastermind while Bittu and Rafi puncture his confidence. The fake blueprint pages and lunch box become visual anchors in the frame.
Pawan gestures dramatically, Bittu unfolds the stained pages in confusion, and Rafi opens the lunch box and calmly reveals roti-sabzi.
Dashboard glow on faces, with passing streetlight flickers adding movement to the static car interior.
Build comedy through contrast: Pawan’s inflated seriousness versus the mundane reality of the others.
INTIMIDATION PRACTICE GOES WRONG
Pawan coaches the others on how to look intimidating, but the car’s cramped space makes every gesture feel awkward and overdone. Bittu’s attempts look painful, and Rafi remains dryly unimpressed.
Pawan demonstrates narrowed eyes and chin-up posture, Bittu tries and looks allergic, and Rafi comments with deadpan calm while closing the lunch box.
Warm practical light with slightly stronger shadow cuts across brows and cheeks, emphasizing comic facial expressions.
Turn a supposed crime rehearsal into a performance workshop for failure.
THE POLICE STATION REVEAL
Bittu peers out the window, freezes, and reads the signboard: Police Station. The silence inside the car becomes the joke, with all three men suddenly trapped in their own stupidity.
Bittu’s face drains, Pawan’s grin stiffens, and Rafi calmly continues eating as if he expected this outcome.
Cooler exterior spill begins to dominate, flattening the fantasy and making the reveal feel brutally ordinary.
Land the central twist with a slow, humiliating realization rather than a loud punchline.
ABORT, RETREAT, AND DENIAL
Pawan tries to salvage dignity with strategic excuses while Bittu panics and Rafi prepares to leave. The steering wheel and dashboard frame the group like a failed command center.
Pawan whispers into the fake walkie-talkie, Bittu clutches the wheel and questions everything, and Rafi unbuckles his seat belt, ready to go first.
Mixed warm and cool tones, with the police station exterior now feeling more present than the car’s interior glow.
Show the collapse of the plan and the collapse of Pawan’s authority at the same time.
THE PATHETIC ESCAPE
The car slowly rolls forward from the police station area, with no hero music and no triumph. The three men sit in awkward silence, their grand heist reduced to a humiliating retreat.
Pawan straightens his jacket, Bittu folds the blueprint pages away, and Rafi gives the final dry line before the car moves off.
Neutral, slightly cooler exterior light overtakes the dashboard glow, signaling the end of the fantasy.
End on anti-climax so the audience feels the full comic defeat of ego over reality.
- ★ Keep Camera at Eye-Level: In small rooms or single locations, eye-level framing makes the audience feel trapped in the room with the characters.
- ★ Reaction Shots are Gold: When a secret or punchline lands, hold the camera on the character listening to capture their silent shock.
- ★ Audio Drives Emotion: Whispers, deep sighs, and awkward silences carry 60% of the dramatic tension.
