The Story Narrative (Hinglish Prose)

Complete Story

Mohan, pachaas saal ka ek bahut hi formal aadmi, hotel room mein aise enter hota hai jaise kisi royal inspection par aaya ho. Usne bathrobe shirt ke upar pehen rakhi hoti hai, moustache ko ek baar seedha kiya hota hai, aur key card ko aise pakadta hai jaise woh uski izzat ka certificate ho. Room simple hai—do beds, ek chhota sa table, khidki se city lights, aur bedside lamps ki warm roshni. Mohan ka mood set hai: “Bas ek shaant raat.” Lekin hotel staff trainee Jai, crisp uniform aur over-apologetic smile ke saath, room service ka tray le kar andar ghus aata hai. Woh har baat par “sorry sir” bolta hai, chahe galti ho ya na ho. Mohan ko lagta hai trainees ka naya style hi over-service hai. Jai extra towels, dessert menu, aur “special arrangement” ke naam par room mein cheezein set karta rehta hai, aur Mohan har cheez ko hotel ki premium hospitality samajh kar aur zyada formal ho jaata hai.

Tabhi Sahil, Mohan ka beta, casual clothes mein phone haath mein liye, entry leta hai. Uske chehre par woh sarcastic grin hai jo sirf beta hi apne baap ke liye reserve karta hai. Mohan pehle use dekh kar shock hota hai—“Tu yahan kya kar raha hai?” Sahil casually bolta hai ki usne hi room book kiya tha. Uska plan simple tha: father-son reconciliation, bina lecture ke, bina family WhatsApp ke, bas ek night where they talk like normal human beings. Lekin Mohan ko lagta hai ki yeh sab hotel ka koi loyalty-program upgrade hai. Jai beech mein phans jata hai, aur har baar jab Sahil emotional baat shuru karta hai, Jai koi na koi room service cheez le aata hai—extra towels, dessert spoon, pillow arrangement—jaise scene ko aur absurd bana raha ho.

Misunderstandings tab aur badhte hain jab Jai, instructions galat samajh kar, table par candle-like lamps aur dessert menu rakh deta hai. Sahil irritate ho kar bolta hai ki yeh romantic setup nahi, family intervention hai. Mohan, jo already confused dignity mein jee raha hota hai, isko sun kar aur bhi confuse ho jaata hai. Use lagta hai “family intervention” shayad hotel ka koi VIP package hai jahan emotional support ke saath points milte hain. Woh baar-baar Jai ko thank karta rehta hai, because he assumes Jai is the mastermind behind this “surprise.” Jai har baar sharminda ho kar correct karne ki koshish karta hai, but Mohan uski baat sunta hi nahi. Sahil finally sab sach batata hai: usne booking isliye ki thi kyunki ghar par baat nahi ho rahi thi, aur usne socha ek neutral hotel room mein father ko corner nahi, conversation milegi. Woh yeh bhi admit karta hai ki usne room service intentionally use ki taaki dad ko escape na mile.

Climax mein Mohan emotionally soften hota hai, par phir bhi apni formality nahi chhodta. Woh Sahil ko dekhta hai, phir Jai ko, aur poore seriousness se bolta hai ki “beta, yeh bohot thoughtful loyalty program hai.” Sahil ka dimag ghoom jaata hai. Jai, jo ab tak sirf apology machine tha, finally sach bolta hai: “Sir, loyalty program nahi... sirf room service thi. Aur extra towels bhi galti se aa gaye the.” Is par Mohan thoda rukta hai, phir apni moustache set karke bolta hai ki phir bhi, “service excellent thi.” Sahil hass padta hai, aur pehli baar room mein tension ke badle genuine laugh aati hai.

Ending mein, father-son ka awkward but real reconciliation hota hai. Mohan quietly admit karta hai ki use surprise pasand aaya—chahe woh galat samajh ke hi kyun na hua ho. Sahil phone side mein rakh deta hai. Jai, ab finally relieved, tray uthata hai aur exit karte waqt last apology bolta hai. Mohan usse rok kar, poori dignity ke saath, dessert menu se tip wala page khol kar bolta hai: “Jai beta, room service ke liye shukriya. Aur haan... loyalty points mere naam pe hi daal dena.” Sahil eyes roll karta hai, Jai confused smile deta hai, aur room ki warm light mein teenon ki awkward comedy ek sweet, absurd family moment mein settle ho jaati hai.
